Good luck Eddie on your American Idol audition in San Francisco! Have a great trip and take in the whole experience. And Sari, your audition to sing the SSB (that’s musician code for The Star-Spangled Banner) at the Pendleton Rodeo is Thursday! Both of you have a GREAT time. Remember, you are not there to win the contest… you are there to put out a “personal best” performance. What could be more rewarding than that! I’m proud of all your hard work. Now have fun! Go for it!
Things to remember:
Dress code: Dressy Casual
Women, this means pick a nice pair of shoes and an outfit to go with it, and you’ll be stunning!
Guys, this means no jeans or yes dress shoes. Whatever else you wear to with that will work.
Music:
It is professional courtesy to always bring your music with you. Your accompanist, me, will have all the music with me, but there could be a glitch, and you want to be responsible for all of your own performance. So bring that music!
Attitude:
This is not and American Idol contest. We are not judging in relationship to other performers. This is a time to bust loose and let go with your personal best performance. When you give your very best, who can fault you for not giving more!
You’ve all worked hard for this night. Step up, trust your training and have fun!!
Can’t wait to see you there!!
DAVID
I’m so excited about hosting our recital at the Kroc Center this time around. If you haven’t been there yet, it is amazing. Chad Ingram is the director of their music program and an AMAZING trumpet player. His resume goes on for miles.
So here’s how to get to the Kroc Center:

Google Map to Kroc Center

The Sign at Bill Frey Drive

You're almost there!

Kroc Center Entrance
From Keizer, use the Salem Parkway, Turn south on Hyacinth Ave (if you miss it, you’ll be onthe freeway or at Keizer Station) Continue to Portland Road. Turn Right. Your next right is Bill Frey Drive. Turn right, and follow the road to the front of the center.
From Salem, go north on Capitol, turns into Fairground, turns into Portland Road. Once you go under the railroad trestle, turn left at the Kroc Center sign, the second light. (The first light is a left into a parking lot.) Continue over the bridge and around to the front of the building.
Dave and His 88 Friends are back again. And evening of piano, Broadway, drama, and laughter in the style of the old TV variety shows. This year I have Suzy Herbert and Toby Abraham-Rhine sharing the stage with me. And you wont want to miss “Show Stopper Bingo!” Tickets are available here (check the sidebar to the left). We would love to have you join us!

Many of you have watched our younger son, Kevin performing with Rihanna. Our older son, Jon is preparing for a European tour with his band The Edges. This is all original music, and Jon is the drummer (wearing the cap) with this very creative team. Here is their latest music video. You can also check out their Facebook page for more info.
I apologize for putting this student notice on the public page but I’m having technical difficulties at the moment. The short story is:
To students and their parents, please pay your April invoice through my website as you normally would. Your invoice for April will arrive, but it will likely be another few days in the making. This is the only way I have of reminding you that your payments are due at the moment.
It was great to see everyone after Spring Break. Now it’s on to District Competitions, Choir tours, and graduation parties! Keep up the good work!
Thanks…
